Another Long Day with At&t

Our main phone line stopped working again Saturday evening.  It took our DSL with it.  We had to ask At&t to come out again, less than a month after their last visit.  The problem, which took out 3 of the phone lines we pay for, turned out to be a stretch of overhead wire along Fenkell between Holmer and Quincy.

This time, Fr. Tim was able to find a phone bill and we found out we have been paying for 4 lines and getting 1 line.  At&t came this morning at 10am and two trucks were here until after 7pm.  In 9 hours, they got all 3 broken lines repaired and our DSL voice and Fax is all working at the same time.

They had a ladder up to the phone pole in the parking lot between the school and the gym and the network box was open all day and most of the evening while they struggled to find the problem.

Meanwhile, Derrek and I worked on making the wiring neater and removing the last vestiges of the defunct pbx system.

It cost Derrek and I a full day waiting around for At&t but we were helping with the food program and neatening up the wiring while we waited. Hopefully we will not be faced with phone outages again any time soon.
